Cryptojacking (Deprecated)

Deprecated. Cryptojacking (T0020.002) is no longer modeled as an active technique in the AMLTRIX framework. It has been superseded by Cryptojacking - T0150, now treated as a standalone technique rather than a subtechnique of Cryptocurrency Mining (T0020). This decision reflects the distinct adversarial objective and operational strategy associated with unauthorized hijacking of computing resources to generate cryptocurrency. Reason for deprecation: Cryptojacking represents a discrete, adversarial tactic involving malware or unauthorized code to covertly exploit victims’ computing infrastructure. This activity bypasses legitimate infrastructure control, warrants its own threat vector, and operates independently of voluntary mining behavior. As such, its inclusion under general Cryptocurrency Mining was inadequate. See instead: Cryptojacking (T0150) --- All prior relationships and taxonomy links have been retired as part of this deprecation.
