Current Status: Beta
AMLTRIX follows a major.minor versioning system to manage changes to its core framework. While in Beta, we are releasing updates frequently as we refine taxonomies, expand coverage, and respond to early user feedback. For more details about how the framework is being versioned, see AMLTRIX Versioning.
Below is a list of released versions.
AMLTRIX v1.0-beta.6 (2025-05-29)
Technique revisions & restructuring
- Front Company (T0014): updated definition, tactic assignment, aliases, and relationships
- Cryptocurrency Mining (T0020) renamed to Compute-to-Crypto Conversion, with the original name retained as an alias
- Cryptojacking* promoted to a standalone technique (T0150), reflecting its distinct adversarial objective
- Name Alteration (T0023.002): reviewed and refined for clarity and accuracy
Tactic description overhaul
- All Money Laundering Kill-Chain descriptions have been revised to more clearly express their underlying adversarial purpose
Taxonomy updates
- Added new Data Source: Merchant Card-Settlement Records
- Added new Mitigation: Government Digital-Identity Verification
Tactic Code Fixes
- Fixed incorrect tactic codes for Sanctions Evasion, Proliferation Financing, Terrorism Financing outlines.
AMLTRIX v1.0-beta.5 (2025-05-15)
Technique update: Refined definition and tactic mapping for Automated Transaction Systems (T0026).
Taxonomy additions:
- Actors: Added State Actor – proposed by Adam Anklewicz from the ZEN.COM team (thank you for the valuable contribution!).
- Data Sources: Added Device & Browser Fingerprint Data, and API & Bulk-Instruction Logs.
- Services & Products: Added Open-Banking / Bulk-Payment API Service.
Content edits: Minor corrections to technique descriptions.
AMLTRIX v1.0-beta.4 (2025-05-12)
- Instrument cleanup: Merged Physical Cash (IN0056) into Cash (IN0051); removed incorrect Virtual IBAN – Jewelry link.
- Mapping update: Refined tactic assignment for Corporate Structuring.
- Risk taxonomy relationship edit: Improved descriptions for several technique–risk relationships (no new mappings added).
- Minor corrections: Small text edits across selected techniques.
- Versioning policy update:
Individual objects no longer carry “beta” status. All items remain at version
1.0unless they undergo meaningful changes (e.g. significantly different definitions or tactic links). This simplifies version tracking and emphasizes only material updates. Read more in our Methodology\Versioning page.

- Corrections to techniques' source reference formatting.
AMLTRIX v1.0-beta.2 (2025-04-08)
- Updated preliminary definitions for the following matrix outlines: Terrorism Financing, Sanctions Evasion, Proliferation Financing.
- Added draft Fraud matrix outline with a preliminary kill-chain of 10 tactics.
- Some corrections to incorrectly phrased citation references.
- Several new citation references added for "Infiltration and Control of Banking Institutions" (T0099) technique.
- Additional markdown exports of the knowledge graph added to https://github.com/Amlyze/amltrix-data repository for large language model and chatbot use cases (similar to what is used in AMLTRIX Philosophy & Design GPT prototype).
